In recent membership meetings we have discussed helping a fellow postdoc at Columbia who has been charged with over $3,000 in unfair health insurance fees after enrolling in the American Language Program. The University has been unwilling to reverse these fees and has since transferred the debt to an external collections agency.
We are launching a fundraiser campaign to collect some financial aid for this researcher. Please, read the details and donate through this Go Fund Me. Feel free to disseminate in your lab/department or anyone in your circles who may be interested in helping. Collectively we can help our fellow worker with this unfair debt.
