Yesterday, March 3rd, we had our second bargaining session for our Contract with Columbia University\u2019s Administration!!\ud83d\udca5\ud83d\udca5\ud83d\udca5<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here\u2019s a recap of what happened:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

12 pm, Gathering!<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

CPW set up tables in front of the Hammer building. Postdocs\/ARSs came to\u00a0socialize, and get t-shirts, pins and flyers.<\/p>\n\n\n

1pm, Bargaining table formation!<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

25 Postdocs\/ARSs followed the BC inside the building and stood behind\u00a0our Bargaining Team during the bargaining session.<\/p>\n\n\n

35 of us in Hammer Building (CUIMC) prepared for our second bargaining session. 25 postdocs in the room standing behind our Bargaining Team of 10.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n

1:15 pm – 4:30 pm, negotiation time! \ud83d\udde3\ufe0f\ud83d\udcab\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Context: we prepared a detailed package<\/a> that was reviewed and approved by members. Sessions of the negotiations will be focused on different parts of the package. This session, we negotiated about Housing, Appointments and Reappointments, and International Employees. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Columbia admin STILL has not provided their offer on Compensation!!! <\/em>They do not want to address ANY<\/em> economic issues early in the process. This attitude is stalling the conversation on many of the articles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our BC wants to start the discussion ASAP on the topics Postdocs\/ARSs care about. During this session, the following articles were addressed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
